Welcome to the Doc-Talk Blog

Doc-talk is a moderated discussion list providing information of value to graduate students completing their Master’s theses and doctoral dissertations. Doc-talk provides extracts and reprints of other articles of interest, as well as reviews of resources useful to graduate students and their advising faculty.

Doc-Talkers should send blog posts to ASGS for moderation and publication. To maintain the value and quality of Doc-Talk, only posts asking for or providing information specifically pertaining to working on theses and dissertations will be published. We recommend that graduate students looking for an un-moderated chat forum visit the Phinished website at Phinished.com.

To submit a question or item for discussion, use this form.

  1. I am a PhD student just starting to write his proposal. I am interested in similar PhD students who would like to form a network/ group to strengthen each other.
    In this group:
    1) We will hold regular online discussion on different aspects of the PhD- problem statement, objective, methodology etc
    2) Review/ critique each others peace of work and provide feedback
    3) Develop/ have a common work plan/ process schedule that we will be using to encourage commitment by each other- this workplan will specific by what time each person should have/ present problem statement, methodology. data collection tool etc for review.

Meanwhile I am interested in connecting with those with PhD in Institutions/ Capacity building OR on sites where I can get free down loads (journals) on Institutions, institutions strengthening and capacity building
